2nd Saturday-Clear Embellishments

Have you noticed all the clear scrapbooking embellishments on the market lately? Are you unsure of how to use them? Here are a few ideas to get you started:

1. Stamp on them with acrylic paint or Staz-on ink.
2. Attach with brads, staples, eyelets or ribbon.
3. Vellum glue dots work great on light-weight pieces with no adhesive showing through!
4. Die cut a sheet of clear acrylic for a one-of-a-kind embellishment.
5. Use a sheet of clear acrylic as a base for a layout or pages in a mini book.

Candi made this gorgeous layout, leaving the whole background clear. She stamped the title with white acrylic paint and added some cardstock flourishes and Prima flowers. Simple but very effective.

Speaking of 2nd Saturday, last month's theme was "Fabric." Here are two layouts by Natalie Kartchner with some fabulous uses of fabric I just had to share!

I love how Natalie inked a scrap of muslin and used it for a photo matte. She reinforced her fabric theme by stamping on another piece for her title and tying a strip around a letter in her title.

This idea is so cute! Natalie loosely gathered muslin with embroidery thread into circles. She inked them with pink and attached them to her page as flower centers. So creative!!!

We can't wait to see what you come up with next month! Watch our blog to see which customer's idea is highlighted next!
