Fancy Pants Rough and Tough

The Rough and Tough collection by Fancy Pants features all things boy. From patterned papers to glittered transparencies and matching ribbon, there's an endless array of creativity just waiting to be discovered!

Maureen Wilson's sense of humor is portrayed in these two super cute layouts:

STORM'S A-BREWIN'

The little transparent rain cloud is the perfect accessory for this stormy picture of her baby boy. Notice all the little details such at the stitched rain drops that she has filled in with glitter. Great idea!

TAKE TIME

Yes, we should all take time to stop and taste the flowers. Just ask Isaac! Maureen added an arrow strip to draw attention to the reason behind this layout.

A Huge Thank You to KC from My Mind's Eye

We had so much fun at our special event this past week! KC Burningham from My Mind's Eye taught a fantastic card class on Friday night and a scrapbooking class on Saturday. He is lots of fun and a great inspiration! I think everyone who attended will agree it was well worth their time and money.

Here's a few photos from the Saturday scrapbooking class:

Kristy and Jessica busy at work.

Jana, Jill, Candi, Tara.

KC makes a point.

I know this photo is blurry, but I had to show Jill with the great prize packs she kept winning.

Everyone won more than one prize, but Kristy got the mother of all prizes...a huge Tres Jolie product pack worth almost $200!! Way to go, Kristy!

We sincerely hope KC will come again. We had so much fun and look forward to new My Mind's Eye product releases coming to our store soon! Come check them out!

November's 2nd Saturday

Traditions: an inherited, established, or customary pattern of thought, action , or behavior; the handing down of information, beliefs and customs by word of mouth or by example from one generation to another.

I am so excited about November's Theme! At this time of year we get busy with the holidays and all the excitement they bring. The holidays seem to be when we concentrate on Family Traditions, so many of the pages we scrapbook are based on traditions we have in our individual families.

On November 14th, at 8:00 a.m. in our Rexburg store, join us as we take an in-depth look at our Traditions and some fun ways we can document them.

As I worked on my page, I wanted to focus on the many traditions we celebrate in our family, so I created it as a journaling page. This layout makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

As I talked with family members about their favorite traditions, I realized there are many more traditions I would like to start. Maybe you will have some traditions you would be willing to share with us in the class.

The holidays are rapidly approaching. Since we get busy and sometimes forget things that we so badly wanted to remember and document, I will have a holiday photo checklist for you and some photo taking tips that will help take the stress away.

I know 8 a.m. seems early for a Saturday morning, but the deals and the learning opportunities are so worth it! So please come and join us. You'll be glad you did!

p.s. Thanks to all of you who filled out the questionnaire last month. Your comments were extremely helpful!

Boo Crew by Bo Bunny

Halloween is quickly approaching and we wanted to share some great new "spooky" products with you. "Boo Crew" by Bo Bunny features vivid colors and cute patterns that are perfect for showcasing your little spooks. Here's some layouts designed by Kathy Davis to give you some ideas:

I love how Kathy pieced her background with 2" squares cut from a variety of patterned papers. The cardstock frame and Fancy Pants embellishments finish it off perfectly!

The little character embellishments were cut from a piece of patterned paper and lifted with pop dots...Cute yet simple.

One of Bo Bunny's 12x12 papers features titles and quotes that can be cut apart and used for a number of projects. You could make some cards with the leftovers.

For more great ideas, visit the Bo Bunny Blog. Scroll down through the last couple of weeks to view some fabulous home decor projects as well as mini albums and layouts featuring "Boo Crew."

2nd Saturday October 10th

Create and Imagine: Children are so good at this process. As we get older we seem to become more serious. Our challenge this month is to document some of the less serious aspects of our lives. When have you used your imagination? How have you been creative with your layouts? If you must be serious, what do you imagine for yourself? Have you documented those early childhood drawings or stories?

I found a couple of quotes that might help jump start your imagination:

"There is no one alive who is youer than you."
Dr. Seuss

"The world is but a canvas to the imagination."
Henry David Thoreau

In the above layout, Mason was at his Grandma's house and only had a stick to play with. He had no trouble using his imagination while playing.

Join us for 2nd Saturday on October 10th and be ready to share some of your creative ideas or to glean some ideas from fellow classmates.

If you haven't attended this class before, it meets every 2nd Saturday at 8 am. It's great for all levels of scrapbookers, but especially those just getting started. We would love to have you attend!
