New K&Company Products!

One of K&Company's newest collections, Actopus to Zelephant, is as fun as it sounds! With double-sided papers, matching chipboard, puffy stickers, wood grain alphabet, and die cut borders, you will never run out of ideas! Create layouts, mini albums, learning games, and custom decor for your child's room. Here's a few ideas:

The Alphabet Page Pad has a 12x12 page for each letter of the alphabet. Also included are stickers, letter pages and punch-out animals that you can layer for dimension.

This happy little clam is so cute with his 3-dimensional eyes! Use our die cut machines to create a custom title.

The stickers, chipboard, and wood-grain letters make some "toadally cute" pages!

Die cut border stickers are a great addition to this layout!

For a simple child's game, try this idea!
Remove the glass from a 12x12 frame and insert a piece of patterned paper over a 12x12 magnetic sheet. Place chipboard animals randomly on the page. Trace around them with a black marker, then remove the chipboard. Continue filling in the silhouette of each animal with the marker. Then place a white alphabet sticker, as shown, that corresponds to the animal's name. Add a self-adhesive magnetic strip to the back of each chipboard animal. You now have the cutest alphabet matching game ever!

Here's another quick and easy project. Cut up an alphabet sheet and attach the images to a few wooden blocks. Mod Podge over the top using a foam brush, and you've got a fun toy or home decor item.

July Kit of the Month

Summer is a time for trips, holidays, reunions, and celebrations. This album was designed by Maureen Wilson as a place to keep ephemera and small souvenirs as well as photos from special summer occasions. Notice the tiny "paper bag" pockets and the retro designs? It's a great place to document those happy summer memories.

Hurry in to the Rexburg store for your kit today. At only $5.99, they are sure to disappear quickly!

2nd Saturday Tomorrow!

Our Theme for July's 2nd Saturday is Courage. Why do we need to scrapbook this theme? To remember that you can overcome and to help others meet challenges without fear.

So what do you fear? How do you face your fears? Here are some ideas to get you brainstorming:

  • Do you seek spiritual comfort?
  • Do you face your fears head-on or shrink from them?
  • What challenges have you had to overcome?
  • How have you changed or grown because of your struggles?

My sample page this month documents how my Father's life took a change of direction that he never imagined. He was simply a bookkeeper for an electrical co-op when the manager there saw a talent in my dad and sent him to Washington D.C. to aid in the battle to keep power prices in check. Since his first trip back east to the capital, he has returned every year for over 20 years. This simple assignment led him to leadership positions and opportunities that have taught him to rely on courage in his thoughts, actions, and words.

If you haven't been to Second Saturday, give it a try this month. We have lots of fun and teach you new and exciting techniques! You can also see what new products we have in the store. See you there!

Some Cute Layout Ideas!

Tara Lehmann is one of our talented designers. She has created these darling layouts that you can put together in a snap!

This sunny page celebrates the many sides of her son's personality. You can re-create this layout by making a simple template for your photos. First, cut a large circle from cardstock using the EK Success Curvy Cutter. Fold the circle in half once and then in half again and then a third time. When you unfold the circle, it should be divided into 8 sections. You can cut the sections apart and use them to size and cut your photos. When you are ready to place your pictures on your layout, they should fit together like slices of a pie. Embellish the center with a cute journaling dial from My Mind's Eye and some chipboard accents.

This layout is a great example of how to work with large rub-ons. Tara created a photo collage on her computer, then added some simple but cute embellishments. She placed the rub-on along the side of her page, overlapping the photo. It helps tie all the pinks together and really makes an impact. This page is so fun and sparkly, it makes me want some candy!

Stay tuned for more ideas from our design team.
