New American Crafts!

We have received a huge shipment of American Crafts! Here is one of their newest collections, "Letterbox."

As always, American Crafts has quality cardstock-weight patterned papers with a coordinating solid on the back. There are also chipboard embellishments, brads and buttons, ribbon, alphabets, clear stamps, and more! Here's a sample of some of the products:

Here are a few layout ideas created by Kathy Davis:

This is such a fun way to use the chipboard frames!

The chipboard alphas are made to match, making title work a breeze.

Use rub-ons or stamps as a quick embellishment on your project.

Album of the Month

Mother Knows Best

It’s a mother’s job to give her children advice and direction. Whether it’s serious (“be a leader”) or silly (“check for toilet paper first“), kids should listen because Mother Knows Best. This album has more than a dozen journaling spots for you to leave advice. Or, fill out the album with the sound advice your mother gave you. Either way, it makes a great keepsake to pass on.

All the stamping has already been done for you, so all you need to do is assemble the pieces. Pick up a kit in our Rexburg store today! Limited quantities available.

Great Design Tip for Cards

Do you ever find yourself needing a card at the last minute and no time to make one? Here's a great design tip from Tara Lehmann that might help you out.

Whenever you make a layout (either from scratch or from a kit) save your scraps. Before you put everything away, you can make a card from the leftovers. Tara likes to recreate the basic design of the layout in a card-sized version.

Here's an example from one of our class kits:

The layout features stitching, scalloped edges, die cut tags, and a stamped bird.

Notice the stitching on the left of Tara's card? She also mimicked the scalloped edges and torn strips of paper. While she was making her layout in our scrapbooking class, she stamped an extra bird and die cut another tag to go on her card later.

So before you clean up after your next project, take 5 minutes to make a quick card. Before long you will have a great collection to give away.
