November 2nd Saturday
November 13th is coming fast so be sure to mark it on your calendars for 2nd Saturday in the Rexburg store. It is so fun when you start to feel the Christmas spirit in the air. We will be focusing on a December layout for you calendar shadow box. The element we wish to emphasize is the use of "Quickutz" dies. On this layout the die we used is the "Merry Christmas" set.
Class will start at 8:30 a.m. We look forward to seeing there.

2nd Saturday Recap
October's 2nd Saturday featured "Core Dination" embossing paper. We taught how you can buy pre-embossed paper that only needs sanding to showcase the embossing, or how you can emboss your own choice of colored cardstock with a number of different tools. Some of those tools are embossing punches, embossing folders for the Revolution or Cuttle Bug Die Cut Machines, embossing rollers, or even metal embossing templates using a light box.
Some other ways to expose the core color of the card stock is to tear or use a distressing blade. This paper adds texture and dimension and helps to complete a layout.

This Halloween mini album, designed by Maureen Wilson, has a trick that’s a real treat! The special folding technique displays several pages, and then “magically” takes you right back to page one– it’s a never-ending album!
If you think this looks complicated, don't worry! Maureen has created a wonderful how-to video so you can see exactly what to do. Click here to watch!
You can pick up a kit in our Rexburg store.

2nd Saturday
Mark October 9th on your calendar! This is the date for our next 2nd Saturday at the Rexburg store. I am excited to showcase Core'dinations Cardstock and share some of the fun things you can do with it.
Besides their "Essentials" collection (which you can tear, sand and emboss), Core'dinations also features a printed, pre-embossed line that is a lot of fun to work with. Here are just a couple of examples of what can be done with this line.
So we will see you Saturday morning at 8:30 am! Be prepared to share your completed pages from last month to help spark all our creative juices.

Maureen designed two layouts using the "Real Estate Sign" punch. This design works perfectly to caption your photos as shown here:
And check out this lovely design! Maureen used the punched shapes to create her entire layout by choosing coordinating papers as accents and setting off her photo by cutting it into a circle. It's simple yet effective.

A Canvas Idea
Turn blank canvases into beautiful pieces of wall art! Display various sizes on a plate rack (as shown below). Dangle them from a metal rod. Mix and match and stack. The possibilities are endless!
The "Flower Child" collection from Bo Bunny was used to create this vertical display. To make something similar, format a favorite quote on your computer, then print it directly onto patterned paper.
TIP: Paper attaches very easily to canvas with a bit of spray adhesive.

Kathy designed this adorable layout and mini album to celebrate the addition of her new baby boy:
Kathy clustered some decorative buttons to visually connect her photos together.
The base for Kathy's mini album is made by Little Yellow Bicycle. She mixed the acrylic and chipboard pages together creating a peek-a-boo effect throughout the book.
Kathy placed felt and alphabet stickers onto the short acrylic pages throughout her book. When the pages lay flat, it gives the illusion that it's all one page.
